Alec Baldwin Caught on Camera Swatting Woman’s Phone After Palestine, ‘Rust’ Confrontation

Alec Baldwin was involved in a public altercation at a New York City cafe, where a woman confronted him over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the fatal shooting on the ‘Rust’ film set.
The woman, known as Crackhead Barney, repeatedly asked Baldwin to say ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘F— Israel,’ while also accusing him of killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Baldwin held the door open for the woman and told her to ‘get out,’ eventually snatching her phone out of her hand. Crackhead Barney claimed she was attacked but Baldwin’s representatives denied this.
Entertainment Weekly received a statement from Crackhead Barney’s publicist, asserting the incident was a critique of the entertainment industry’s silence on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Baldwin is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter in connection with Hutchins’ death and is scheduled to appear in court in July.

A group of students gathered at the University of Pittsburgh on Tuesday, May 17th, to demand that the school disclose investments in Israeli organizations and divest from companies complicit in apartheid, occupation, and genocide. The demonstrators, who were part of a nationwide movement, also called on the university to condemn the ongoing conflict in Gaza and cut all ties with Israeli universities. The demonstration was held in solidarity with similar protests at other campuses across the country, including Columbia University, Yale, and MIT.

Ex-Leftist Trump Supporter to Host ‘Free Palestine’ Event in Michigan City with Large Arab Population

Former leftist Jackson Hinkle, now a self-described ‘American Conservative Marxist-Leninist,’ is co-hosting a ‘Free Palestine’ event in Dearborn, Michigan, a city with a significant Arab American population. The event, co-hosted by Adam Tahir, will discuss strategies for supporting Palestinian liberation in America. Hinkle has a large social media following despite being banned from several platforms for pushing extremism against Jews. Despite being a Trump supporter, Hinkle’s views on the Israel-Palestine conflict differ from other staunch Trump supporters, who have condemned Palestinian protesters and supported Israel’s efforts.

Israeli Soldiers Abduct American Cousin in Occupied West Bank

Layan, an American citizen of Palestinian descent, was abducted by Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank. She is one of over 5,500 Palestinians detained by Israel without charge or trial. Israel’s use of administrative detention, torture, and other human rights abuses is a violation of international law. The Biden administration must pressure Israel to end its oppression of Palestinians and hold it accountable for its war crimes in Gaza.

Cal Poly Humboldt Campus Shuts Down Amid Nationwide Gaza-Related Protests

Protests over the conflict in Gaza gripped university campuses across the United States, prompting closures and arrests. Cal Poly Humboldt joined the movement with demonstrators occupying an administrative building and barricading the entrance, leading to the campus’s shutdown. The protesters demanded transparency about the university’s dealings with Israel and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Law enforcement officials in riot gear responded, and the university urged protesters to peacefully leave the building. Despite the closure, students and faculty were advised to prepare for remote classes and seek support from activist groups advocating for the protesters’ First Amendment rights.

Police Must Protect Freedom of Expression and Safety of Jewish Londoners

The recent incident involving Gideon Falter, the chief executive of the Campaign Against Antisemitism, highlights a disturbing trend in London: the policing of protests at the expense of individual freedoms and safety. On April 13, Falter, who was wearing a kippah, was told by a Metropolitan Police officer that his “openly Jewish” presence at a pro-Palestine march was “antagonising” and could lead to arrest. This incident is not isolated; there has been a worrying increase in antisemitic incidents at pro-Palestine marches. The Metropolitan Police has been criticized for its handling of these incidents, and the government is considering banning pro-Palestine marches.

Authors Withdraw From PEN America Awards Amidst Protests

PEN America has canceled its annual awards ceremony due to withdrawals from authors protesting the organization’s perceived bias in favor of Israel during the Israel-Hamas War. Notable withdrawals include Rachel Eliza Griffiths, wife of Salman Rushdie, and nine out of ten PEN/Jean Stein Book Award nominees. The cancelation follows open letters from over 1,000 writers and poets urging PEN America to advocate for Palestinian rights.

NYPD Arrests Protesters at NYU Demonstration

A protest in front of New York University’s business school on Monday evening led to multiple arrests by the NYPD, according to university officials. The demonstration began with 50 NYU students and grew to hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters. The university claims that the protest turned disruptive and intimidating, prompting them to call for police assistance. NYPD officers in riot gear detained numerous protesters, including faculty members, after the crowd refused to disperse. The arrests come amidst a wave of protests at universities across the country over alleged ties to Israel.

Extremism Overruns American Universities

The United States’ top universities are facing a crisis as extremist groups infiltrate and spread hate. Faculty, students, and non-student extremists are promoting anti-American, anti-Israel, and anti-Jewish views, creating an unsafe and hostile environment for Jewish students. Notable incidents include Hamas-supporting demonstrations, the defacement of university property, and physical attacks on Jewish students. Despite these incidents, university administrations have often failed to respond adequately, allowing the extremists to continue their activities unchecked. The author calls for urgent action from universities and government to protect these critical institutions and ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
