The 42nd Annual India Day Parade in New York City will feature a special tableau depicting the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, with renowned actor Pankaj Tripathi as the Guest of Honour. The parade, scheduled for August 18th, will showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and traditions along Madison Avenue.
Renowned actor Kamal Haasan, along with his esteemed colleagues Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal, will commence filming for Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated pan-India film, “Thug Life,” in the vibrant city of Delhi. Their filming schedule is set to span an extensive 20-day period, capturing the diverse essence of the capital city. The production team plans to showcase various facets of Delhi through shoots at notable landmarks such as the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, schools, and farmhouses. With the summer temperatures rising, the team is fully prepared to face the heat and optimize natural daylight for filming, minimizing night schedules. This eagerly awaited action-thriller marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, 36 years after their iconic collaboration in the 1987 crime epic “Nayakan.” Haasan has played a pivotal role in co-writing the script with Ratnam. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Trisha, Abhirami, Nassar, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, and Aishwarya Lekshmi. While it remains uncertain if the entire cast will join the Delhi shoot, sources confirm that no action sequences are currently scheduled, with the focus on regular sequences. The official announcement of the film occurred in November 2022 under the tentative title “KH 234,” signifying Haasan’s 234th film as a lead actor, while the official title was unveiled in November 2023. Principal photography commenced in January this year, with sporadic filming in multiple locations, including Chennai. Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman has been entrusted with the task of creating the film’s soundtrack.
Heartbreaking footage has emerged online of a car accident involving Pankaj Tripathi’s brother-in-law, Rajesh Tiwari. The incident occurred on April 20th when Rajesh and his wife, Sarita, were traveling to West Bengal. Their vehicle collided with a divider, resulting in Rajesh’s tragic death. Sarita is currently receiving treatment in the hospital’s ICU.
