The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), in collaboration with Indian Railways (IR), has announced the provision of 500ml Rail Neer Packaged Drinking Water (PWD) bottles to passengers on all Vande Bharat trains. This initiative aims to reduce the wastage of drinking water on trains, particularly during the ongoing summer season and in response to increasing concerns about conserving natural resources. Every passenger on Vande Bharat trains will receive a 500ml water bottle, with the option to request an additional 500ml bottle at no extra cost.

Starting May 27, 2024, VIA Rail will launch a new early-morning departure, train number 641, operating Monday to Thursday. Aberdeen International Airport has revolutionized its security protocol with the installation of Next Generation Security Checkpoint (NGSC) Scanners, allowing travelers to swiftly navigate terminal security. Laptops and liquids up to two liters can now remain in carry-on bags, significantly enhancing the passenger experience. The airport has proactively implemented these scanners well ahead of the UK Government’s deadline, underscoring its commitment to passenger convenience and efficiency.
Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), in collaboration with Indian Railways, has established affordable meal and snack counters near general second class (GS) coaches to cater to the upcoming summer season. This initiative aligns with the organization’s efforts to provide improved services to passengers, particularly those traveling in unreserved coaches. Over 150 meal counters have been set up at 100 stations across India, specifically positioned near GS coaches on platforms. Southern Railway has established exclusive meal counters at 34 stations within its zone, including five in Chennai Division, three in Tiruchchirappalli Division, four in Salem Division, two in Madurai Division, nine in Palakkad Division, and 11 in Thiruvananthapuram Division.
To address the influx of passengers, Indian Railways will operate weekly special trains from Tambaram and Erode to Dhanbad. These trains are scheduled to run on specific days and will provide convenient travel options for passengers.

The airport has successfully installed and tested the Digi Yatra system, offering passengers a convenient and hassle-free experience at three key checkpoints: entry, check-in, and boarding.
