Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) has maintained its remarkable growth trajectory, solidifying its position as the fastest-growing major airport in the United States. The airport’s 22% passenger traffic growth in 2023, compared to the previous year, propelled it to the top of the U.S. DOT’s ranking of the fastest-growing Top 50 airports nationwide. In 2023, RDU set a new passenger traffic record, welcomed four new airlines, added 25 new destinations, and expanded its route network by 49. This year, RDU will further strengthen its global connectivity by adding three new international destinations, bringing its total to an impressive 10.
