The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) successfully hosted the PATA Annual Summit 2024 (PAS 2024) at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort in Macau, China, with significant contributions from the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and co-host SJM Resorts, S.A. The summit brought together over 450 delegates from 200 organizations spanning 29 destinations to explore the theme of ‘Reimagining Tourism.’ The three-day event featured a range of sessions, workshops, and destination experiences, showcasing PATA’s latest initiatives and highlighting key trends and challenges in the travel and tourism industry.

Delegates also explored Hong Kong, enhancing the travel experience between the two destinations.

Key highlights included an interview with Pansy Ho, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Shun Tak Holdings Limited, a presentation by Euromonitor International on essential travel and tourism trends, and sessions on travel technology, artificial intelligence, and gastronomic tourism. The summit also saw the release of a report on human capital development in tourism. With a record number of participants post-pandemic, the summit reinforced Macao’s position as a global center for tourism and leisure.
Tourism Malaysia joins the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) from May 15th to 17th, 2024, for the ‘Reimagining Tourism’ summit.
