The Patna High Court granted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody of 13 accused arrested by the Bihar Police in the NEET-UG paper leak case. In a significant ruling, the Patna High Court has directed the Bihar government to treat ‘contract teachers’ and ‘guest teachers’ equally in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) recruitment process, effectively staying the BPSC’s Teachers Recruitment Exam (TRE)-3. This means that guest teachers will now be eligible for preferential marks based on their years of employment, up to a maximum of 25 marks, just like contract teachers.
