Penn State’s Abdul Carter Charged with Assault in College Township

Abdul Carter, a Penn State All-Big Ten defender, is facing a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an alleged incident with a tow truck driver in College Township, Pa. The charge was brought forth by State College police after an altercation that occurred on March 16. According to reports, Carter is accused of pulling the tow truck driver from his vehicle and throwing him to the ground. The driver was attempting to tow Carter’s vehicle due to a missing parking pass. The incident reportedly left the tow truck driver with a fractured rib. Carter has been charged with simple assault and harassment and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 22. Penn State has yet to comment on the matter.
