Rare Persian Leopard Spotted Near Balochistan’s Nani Mandir

A rare Persian leopard, known locally as ‘phulang,’ has been sighted near Balochistan’s Nani Mandir, a significant Hindu pilgrimage site within the Hingol National Park. The elusive animal, native to the area, was recorded by a visitor on the cliff opposite the temple. Despite its presence in various parts of Balochistan, the Persian leopard population faces threats due to hunting and limited food availability, leading to its endangered status.

Persian Leopard Spotted in Balochistan after Many Decades

A Persian leopard has been sighted at the Nani Mandir, a renowned Hindu pilgrimage site in Balochistan, after several decades. The leopard’s presence was captured on video by a pilgrim visiting the temple within Hingol National Park. The leopard, locally known as ‘phulang,’ is native to the park and is rarely spotted in the area.
