Golf World No. 1 Scheffler Arrested at PGA Championship for Traffic Violation

Masters champion Scottie Scheffler was arrested Friday morning on his way to the PGA Championship for allegedly trying to drive around traffic controls outside the course. Scheffler was handcuffed and taken into custody by police after an officer claimed he failed to stop when instructed. Scheffler’s attorney says the arrest was “a big misunderstanding” and that they will contest the charges. The incident occurred as a pedestrian was struck and killed by a bus near the entrance to the course.
