Karnataka Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Phase Two Voting Schedule and Key Contests

Karnataka will participate in the second and third phases of the crucial Lok Sabha elections in 2024, with voting scheduled for April 26 and May 7, respectively. The state will witness high-stakes battles in several constituencies, including Bangalore Rural, where DK Suresh (Congress) and CN Majunath (BJP), the son-in-law of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, will face off. The constituency comprises a mix of rural and urban areas, presenting a diverse electorate. The Congress has traditionally dominated the Bengaluru South constituency, but the BJP is looking to make inroads with its candidate, C N Manjunath. The JD(S) also holds a significant presence in the region.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase Two: Campaigning Ends as Poll Silence Sets In

The high-octane campaigning for the second phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections concluded on Wednesday evening, marking the commencement of a 48-hour silence period. Polling is scheduled for April 26 in 88 constituencies across 12 states and Union Territories, including the remaining part of the Outer Manipur constituency. A total of 1206 candidates from 12 states and UTs, along with 4 candidates from the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency, will contest in this phase. The first phase of polling covered 102 constituencies of 21 states and union territories.
