Vesna Vulović, a flight attendant, miraculously survived a fall from 33,000 feet without a parachute after a plane explosion in 1972. She is the only known person to survive such a high-altitude fall. She was found alive by a villager, Bruno Honke, and despite suffering multiple injuries, she made a remarkable recovery. She returned to work as a desk role at Jat Airlines but was later fired for participating in anti-government protests during the breakup of Yugoslavia. Her story of survival made her a national hero in her home country. She passed away in 2016 at the age of 66.
