Treasure Trove of Coins Unearthed in Poland, Confirming Legend of Fraudulent Charlatan

Metal detectorists have discovered a treasure trove of coins that may have belonged to a charlatan named Antoni Jaczewski who swindled people out of their money in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. According to Polish legend, Jaczewski claimed to possess healing powers and convinced people to pay him in gold and silver coins. Despite being captured and imprisoned, Jaczewski escaped and continued scamming citizens. He was eventually sentenced to life in prison in 1712.
