Residents of Delhi have been severely impacted by an acute water shortage in recent days. Long queues have formed at water tankers, as people desperately attempt to fill empty vessels. The crisis has disrupted daily life, with many resorting to fetching water in containers. Political disputes have emerged, with the Delhi government seeking intervention from the Supreme Court to release more water from neighboring Haryana. The court is set to hear the plea on June 3rd. In response, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has denied accusations of inadequate supply and urged Delhi to focus on proper resource management. Amidst the worsening situation, the Delhi government has established a central control room to monitor water supply and introduced a helpline (1916) for residents to request water tankers.
