Last weekend, The Fall Guy arrived in movie theaters nationwide to thunderous indifference. It grossed less than $28 million dollars at the domestic box office, which means most moviegoers decided to stay in and check out what’s on their favorite streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and, of course, Netflix. And can you blame them? Netflix in particular has a lot to choose from, from the hit show Baby Reindeer to original movies like Damsel. This weekend, these three movies haven’t gotten much of the spotlight recently, but are worth your time and attention. One is a political thriller starring a pair of Oscar winners, another is one of the great 1980s dramas, and the last one is a comedy starring a bunch of talented Saturday Night Live veterans.

The political thriller ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story,’ which hit theaters on March 15, is now available on OTT for viewers. The film, starring Adah Sharma and directed by Sudipto Sen, explores the story of Indian Maoists known as Naxals, who have been linked to numerous deaths and the destruction of trillions of dollars worth of assets during the Bastar rebellion.
Brian Helgeland, the original screenwriter for the scrapped ‘Cleopatra’ movie starring Angelina Jolie, revealed it was a blend of political thriller and romance epic featuring assassinations, sex, and historical insights. The film explored Cleopatra’s love affairs with Caesar and Marc Antony, along with her intelligence and influence. Despite the ambitious plans and a potential collaboration with David Fincher, the movie never materialized. Hollywood has faced challenges in bringing ‘Cleopatra’ to the big screen since Elizabeth Taylor’s iconic 1963 epic, but recent developments suggest Denis Villeneuve may be moving forward with his own version.
