49ers Face Day One Draft Decisions in Detroit

The San Francisco 49ers enter the 2023 NFL Draft in Detroit with the 31st overall pick in the first round. General manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan have several options at their disposal and will finalize their strategy in the coming days.

Trading out of the No. 31 pick is a possibility for the 49ers, as they could acquire additional picks or move up if a highly ranked player falls. With needs on both the offensive and defensive lines, San Francisco could look to add depth or target a specific player at their current draft position.

If the 49ers stay at No. 31, edge rushers Adisa Isaac and Chop Robinson of Penn State could be available. Bryon Murphy II from Texas and Jer’Zhan Newton are also potential options that could be considered.

On the offensive side, tackle Amarius Mims from Georgia could be a valuable addition to the 49ers. If they decide to address the defensive backfield, Cooper DeJean of Iowa, Terrion Arnold from Alabama, or Quinyon Mitchell from Toledo could be potential targets.
