SWISS International Air Lines is facing operational challenges this summer due to engine problems affecting its Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft. The airline is grounding six aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engines, which have been recalled due to defective components. While the airline’s A220 fleet is not affected by this particular issue, it faces separate engine problems with PW1500G engines. Analysts remain bullish on RTX stock, citing its strong backlog and demand in commercial and military end markets. Despite near-term pressures related to the GTF engine replacements, RTX remains a promising investment with a $125 price target for 2024.

UConn’s Engineering Building Renamed After Pratt & Whitney Merger

The former United Technologies Engineering Building on the University of Connecticut’s Storrs campus was renamed the Pratt & Whitney Engineering Building in a ceremony on Friday. The renaming marks the connection between academia and industry, especially in the aerospace sector. UConn President Radenka Maric highlighted Pratt & Whitney’s long-standing support for the UConn College of Engineering. The company recently invested $1.25 million through the Pratt & Whitney Scholars Program to support underrepresented minorities.
