Hong Kong Offers Incentives to Boost Use of Prefabrication Construction Technique

Hong Kong authorities aim to increase the adoption of modular integrated construction (MiC) by offering incentives to the private sector. Despite its introduction in 2018, only a few projects have utilized the technique. The government plans to invest in supply chains and explore overseas opportunities for MiC, addressing concerns from lawmakers about limited uptake and the need for more incentives. A government-owned company will establish standards and provide accreditation for the process.
