The Libertarian Party has selected political activist Chase Oliver as its presidential nominee, spurning attempts by former President Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to secure the party’s backing. Oliver emerged victorious in the seventh round of voting, capturing nearly 60% of the votes in the final round and surpassing the 50% threshold required for victory. The party’s platform emphasizes small government, individual freedoms, and a non-interventionist foreign policy, aligning with Oliver’s campaign promises of budget cuts, the abolition of the death penalty, and the withdrawal of military support from overseas conflicts.
