The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a refreshing take on the classic top-down Zelda formula, putting Princess Zelda in the lead role and introducing a new gameplay mechanic that allows her to copy objects and enemies as “echoes.” While the game offers a unique and engaging experience, it ultimately falls short of fully realizing its potential. The limited selection of echoes and the game’s reliance on familiar Zelda tropes prevent Echoes of Wisdom from truly stepping out of Link’s shadow.
