Boeing announced to employees that the production and delivery of new 787 Dreamliner planes will face delays due to shortages of key parts from suppliers.
In a memo, 787 vice president and general manager Scott Stocker cited the challenges in improving the production system and supplier shortages as reasons for the slower increase in production rates.
Boeing is still aiming to increase production gradually to meet the high demand for the 787 Dreamliners.
