In celebration of Earth Day on Monday, BC Transit will provide free bus services in Greater Victoria, West Kootenay, Penticton, and Whistler. The initiative aims to encourage residents to opt for public transportation, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. BC Transit operates over 280 compressed natural gas buses and is expanding its electric bus fleet. Separately, activists will gather outside the premier’s office in Vancouver to advocate for free transit for individuals aged 18 and under.
