Raghunandan Kamath, Founder of Naturals Ice Cream, Passes Away at 70

Raghunandan Kamath, the founder of Naturals Ice Cream and affectionately known as the ‘Ice Cream Man of India,’ has passed away due to a brief illness at the age of 70. Naturals Ice Cream is renowned for its use of fresh fruits, dry fruits, milk, and sugar, without any preservatives or additives. Kamath’s journey began in Mangalore, where he inherited his father’s knowledge of selecting the finest fruits. Inspired by this, he conceptualized ice cream made with real fruits instead of artificial flavors. In 1984, he established the first Naturals Ice Cream outlet in Juhu Koliwada, Mumbai, initially offering pav bhaji alongside the ice cream as a strategic marketing move. Over the years, Naturals Ice Cream expanded across India with over 100 outlets. Kamath is survived by his wife and two sons, and his legacy will continue to delight ice cream lovers across the nation.
