IIT Bombay has developed a sophisticated online system for hyperlocal rainfall forecasting and flood monitoring in Mumbai, providing real-time data and alerts to help residents navigate the monsoon season. The system, developed by a team from the Interdisciplinary Programme in Climate Studies (IDPCS), utilizes weather data from multiple sources, AI/ML modeling, and citizen reporting to offer detailed forecasts and updates.
