In 2023, RDU set a new passenger traffic record, welcomed four new airlines, added 25 new destinations, and expanded its route network by 49. This year, RDU will further strengthen its global connectivity by adding three new international destinations, bringing its total to an impressive 10.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is expecting a surge in travelers during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, according to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Approximately 300,000 passengers are projected to pass through the airport from Thursday, May 23, to Tuesday, May 28, marking an 8% increase compared to the same period last year. The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) and Breeze Airways have launched a new nonstop service from Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). This new service aims to enhance connectivity between the two regions, providing travelers with a convenient and efficient option for direct travel. The seasonal service will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, offering passengers flexible scheduling options. Breeze Airways now offers nonstop flights to six destinations from SYR, including Charleston, SC; Fort Myers, FL; Las Vegas, NV; Norfolk, VA; Raleigh-Durham, NC; and Tampa, FL.
