Unveiling the Range Rover Electric: A Stealthy EV in the Making

Land Rover has revealed the first glimpse of its highly anticipated Range Rover Electric, showcasing an all-black prototype undergoing rigorous cold weather testing in Sweden. Despite its battery-powered nature, the EV remains visually indistinguishable from its gas-powered counterpart, with the familiar profile, lines, grille, and bumper. However, subtle differences are expected in the finished product, including smoother curves and illuminated accents. While technical specifications remain scarce, Land Rover promises the EV will deliver exceptional refinement and a new in-house all-electric propulsion system designed for all-weather conditions. The company is also developing an advanced traction control system that promises enhanced control on slippery surfaces, hinting at a multi-electric motor powertrain. The Range Rover Electric is expected to make its public debut later this year, and its price is anticipated to exceed the $107,900 starting price of the current gas-powered model.

Range Rover Unveils First Images of Fully Electric SUV

Range Rover’s first fully electric SUV is coming soon, and the first images have been revealed. The new electric SUV features a modern design and promises to deliver the same luxury, refinement, and capability as the traditional Range Rover. It will be tested in extreme conditions to ensure it can withstand frigid temperatures and desert heat. The electric SUV will compete with the Porsche Cayenne and other luxury automakers’ electric vehicles. Range Rover expects strong demand for its first EV, and it could lead the way for electric propulsion capability, refinement, and luxury travel.

Range Rover Electric Races Closer to Showrooms

Range Rover is gearing up to unveil the Range Rover Electric, its first electric car. Currently undergoing testing on Sweden’s frozen lakes, the EV utilizes a new traction control system that drastically reduces reaction time to slip. This technology enhances both on-road safety and off-road capabilities. The electric drive unit and battery are both manufactured in-house, marking a first for the JLR group. Visually, the electric version subtly differs from its counterparts with only a charging port distinguishing it. Order books opened in late 2023, and the vehicle features an 800V electrical architecture, 850mm wading depth, and various amenities for a seamless ownership experience.
