BJP’s Ravi Kishan Predicts Opposition Parties’ Demise, Accuses Them of Shariat Agenda

BJP candidate Ravi Kishan, seeking re-election from Gorakhpur, has predicted a crushing defeat for half a dozen Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha polls, claiming they will lose their deposits. He accused the Opposition bloc, which includes Congress, of plotting to run the country based on Shariat law. Kishan dismissed allegations of being an outsider, emphasizing his local roots in Gorakhpur. He criticized the Samajwadi Party’s Kajal Nishad, also an actor-politician, for making such claims. Kishan praised the welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, crediting them for empowering the people.

Gorakhpur Lok Sabha Seat: A Battle of Discontent and Star Power

Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat, a BJP stronghold for over three decades, is witnessing a fierce electoral battle in 2024. Incumbent MP Ravi Kishan faces Samajwadi Party’s Kajal Nishad, who aims to capitalize on the discontent among voters fueled by inflation, unemployment, and fatigue with the Modi government. Caste dynamics, once a key factor, seem less influential this election due to disappointment with BSP’s Mayawati. Nishaad community, traditionally a BJP vote bank, is showing signs of shifting allegiance due to perceived neglect and economic challenges. Amidst the star appeal, stark differences in campaign styles and voter sentiment make this contest a tight race.
