In the upcoming Disney+ series ‘The Acolyte,’ fan-favorite character Vernestra Rwoh from the High Republic novels makes her live-action debut, as portrayed by Rebecca Henderson. Henderson reveals that while the character will be older and wiser, she will retain her iconic purple lightsaber and lightwhip. The series explores the world of the High Republic, set 100 years before previous live-action Star Wars stories, and draws inspiration from Samurai movies and Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill.’ Henderson teases a ‘badass’ portrayal of Vernestra and highlights her status as a respected Jedi Master who faces a dangerous warrior from her past.
