The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe heatwave warning for parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours. Jodhpur and Bikaner are under a red alert, while Pilani could experience temperatures above 48 degrees Celsius in the coming days. Heatwave conditions are also likely in isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh, Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, northeast Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and north Madhya Maharashtra from May 21 to 25.

As a precautionary measure, the district administration has instructed the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) and Tourism Department to curb tourism activities. Other attractions like the Cantilever Glass Bridge at Wagamon and DTPC-operated boating services may also be halted if adverse weather conditions persist. The district administration has also banned mining and quarrying activities and established control rooms across the district. To ensure public safety, individuals may be relocated to safer areas in case of emergencies.
