Elysian, a Dutch startup, has presented its design for a fully electric regional aircraft, the E9X, aiming to achieve a 500-mile range and carry 90 passengers. Despite challenges like battery charging times, Elysian believes their aircraft will be commercially viable within a decade, relying on current and near-future battery technology advancements.
TrueNoord, a regional aircraft lessor, has secured an additional eight aircraft from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC). This acquisition adds one Dash 8-400 and seven E190s to TrueNoord’s existing fleet, bringing the total to 94 aircraft. The distribution of these aircraft across the USA, Europe, and Australia enhances TrueNoord’s global presence and reinforces its portfolio of turboprop and regional jets. Integration of the eight aircraft into TrueNoord’s fleet is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2024. This agreement builds upon previous acquisitions, highlighting the strong business relationship between the two lessors. TrueNoord’s Chief Commercial Officer, Richard Jacobs, expressed optimism about the company’s growth and the value of the partnership with NAC.
