Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Iconic Halls Renamed to Reflect Indian Culture

Two prominent halls in Rashtrapati Bhavan, ‘Durbar Hall’ and ‘Ashok Hall’, have been renamed as ‘Ganatantra Mandap’ and ‘Ashok Mandap’, respectively, in a move to highlight India’s cultural values. The President’s Secretariat emphasized the ongoing efforts to make the Rashtrapati Bhavan more accessible and reflective of Indian culture. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra commented on the renaming, suggesting that the term ‘Durbar’ does not resonate with India’s ethos.
