Family in Canada Receives Wrong Body After Father’s Death in Cuba

A family in Canada was shocked to receive the wrong body after the father suddenly passed away in Cuba while on vacation. Faraj Jarjour, 68, from Montreal, died on March 22nd in Varadero, Cuba. The casket they received contained the remains of a different man. The family paid over $18,000 to repatriate his body and for the funeral. Over a month later, the family is still searching for their father’s body and has been emailing officials for help.

A Quebec family is in anguish after discovering that the remains of their beloved father, Faraj Allah Jarjour, were accidentally swapped with those of a Russian man during his repatriation from Cuba following his untimely death on vacation. Despite their diligent efforts, including reaching out to the Canadian consulate and various government officials, the family has yet to receive any satisfactory answers or locate their father’s body.
