University of Regina Approves Budget with 4% Tuition Increase for 2024-25

The University of Regina has approved its 2024-25 balanced budget, with revenues and expenditures each totaling $283.1 million. This comes after three years of deficit budgets and the final year of a four-year agreement with the provincial government. In the 2024-25 academic year, tuition and fees will increase by 4% for graduate and undergraduate programs, adding an extra $120 to the cost of a $3000 semester. Kurukshetra University Bags Two Patents in April

Kurukshetra University (KU) has been granted two patents by the Patent Office, Government of India. The patents are for “Carboxymethycellulose Ester Based Drug Delivery System” and “Apoptosis Inducing Composition Compromising Triazolothiazolyl-Triazole Derivative of Benzene”. This brings KU’s total number of patents granted to 22. Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath congratulated the research group and highlighted the university’s efforts to encourage research, including incentives, recognition, and assistance with patent filing. Prof Ramesh Kumar Mehta, an alumnus of KU, has been appointed as an honorary Professor of IPR & Technology Transfer to provide expertise and support to faculty members.
