In a collaboration between the City of Edmonton and the Downtown Business Association, a portion of Rice Howard Way will be transformed into an entertainment district this summer. This initiative forms part of a pilot project to revitalize the city’s downtown core and attract visitors. Throughout the summer, the pedestrian-friendly block will offer live entertainment, games, and a selection of alcoholic beverages from participating establishments like Rosewood Foods and Sherlock Holmes Pub. Moreover, the district will host regular events such as the Downtown Spark Block Party, showcasing local talent and art installations. The project utilizes funds allocated for downtown vibrancy and aims to provide a model for future similar initiatives across Edmonton.
