Chicago White Sox Call Up Outfielder Tommy Pham

In a move to bolster their outfield, the Chicago White Sox have acquired Tommy Pham from Triple-A Charlotte. To make room on the roster, journeyman outfielder Kevin Pillar has been designated for assignment.

Pham, 36, has a wealth of experience in the majors, having played for seven different teams. He has a career batting average of .259 with 130 homers and 431 RBIs.

Pillar, 35, has struggled at the plate this season, hitting just .160 in 17 games. He is a veteran of nine seasons, with a career average of .257 and 107 home runs.

Blue Jays Recall Addison Barger to Major League Roster

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled infielder Addison Barger to their major league roster, as Kevin Kiermaier is likely headed to the injured list. Barger, the Blue Jays’ No. 6 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, has been hitting .314/.435/.586 with 10 doubles and three home runs in 19 games for Triple-A Buffalo. He has played primarily at third base and right field in the minors. The left-handed hitting Barger is expected to be active for the Blue Jays, and where he fits in the lineup remains to be seen.
