Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden turned heads at a state banquet hosted by her parents, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, during the Finnish state visit to Sweden. The future queen of Sweden recycled her ‘Feather Trimmed Capelet Gown’ from Toteme, featuring a regal cape and floor-length skirt, and dripped in diamonds, including the Boucheron Laurel Wreath Tiara and the star of the Order of the Seraphim. Her sister-in-law, Princess Sofia, looked equally stunning in a navy blue Oscar de la Renta gown and diamond palmette tiara. For the welcoming ceremony, Victoria opted for a royal blue silk dress from Pär Engsheden, while Sofia wore a modern tweed dress from Andiata. Earlier this month, Victoria wore a tweed blazer and wide-leg trousers from the same brand as Sofia’s tweed dress, and on Wednesday, she switched up her look with an orange trouser suit from Zara.
Despite her regal status, the late Queen Elizabeth II was known for her down-to-earth nature and her willingness to help with daily chores. Former Press Secretary Dickie Arbiter recounted an incident where the Queen and Prince Philip joined him in clearing up after lunch, with the Queen herself washing dishes with her bare hands. Prime Minister David Cameron also recalled the Queen’s insistence on doing the dishes during their stays at Balmoral Castle. These anecdotes highlight the Queen’s humble and relatable character, showcasing her willingness to engage in everyday tasks alongside her staff and guests.
