In a significant boost to his campaign, Peoples Conference chairperson Sajjad Lone has secured the support of former Jammu and Kashmir deputy chief minister Muzaffar Hussan Baig and his wife, Safina Baig, the district development council chairperson from Baramulla. Their endorsement adds to the support Lone received earlier this week from the Altaf Bukhari-led Apni Party. The Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, which goes to polls on May 20, will witness a direct contest between Lone and National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah.
