The death of an accused in the Salman Khan firing case while in police custody has sparked suspicion and allegations of a conspiracy. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey questioned the possibility of political or high-ranking police involvement in the incident. Dubey raised concerns about the safety of Mumbai Police lock-ups, despite the presence of CCTV cameras and numerous officers.
Anuj Thapan, an accused arrested in the Bollywood actor Salman Khan house firing case, died by suicide in custody in Mumbai on Wednesday, according to the Mumbai Police. Thapan was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Esplanade Court extended their police detention until April 29th during a hearing on Thursday, after which they were remanded to the Mumbai Police Crime Branch’s custody. The Mumbai Crime Branch has asserted that they have unearthed substantial evidence against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, designating them as the incident’s primary perpetrators and most sought-after individuals. Mumbai Police has filed a lawsuit against four individuals in connection with the shooting case, with Lawrence Bishnoi being named as the primary defendant.
