Two construction workers were injured in a structure collapse in Salt Lake City on Monday afternoon. The structure, a detached shed/garage under construction, tipped and collapsed around 3 p.m., striking one worker and trapping another underneath. A 41-year-old man has passed away after being struck by a car while riding an electric scooter in the Fairpark neighborhood of Salt Lake City. The victim, Ismael Ontivaros, was hit just before 9 p.m. near 800 West and North Temple. While the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, police believe impairment may have played a role. The driver of the car remained at the scene and no charges have been filed as of yet. This incident marks the fourth traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City this year.
