PATA Expands Tourism Destination Resilience Program to Sarawak, Malaysia

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is expanding its Tourism Destination Resilience (TDR) Programme to Sarawak, Malaysia, to enhance the region’s resilience and sustainable growth. Since its inception in 2021, the TDR Programme has helped regional destinations recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and prepare for future challenges. As tourism figures approach pre-pandemic levels, PATA emphasizes the need for resilience to prevent a return to outdated business practices. The program focuses on developing a comprehensive set of indicators that include visitor experience, visit duration, daily spending, local well-being, and heritage preservation for sustainable tourism growth.
