Indian archer Sarita Kumari, who had shown promise in earlier rounds, suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the quarterfinals of the archery competition at the Paris Paralympics. She was defeated by top-seeded Oznur Cure Girdi of Korea, despite a valiant effort. In another disappointment, Sheetal Devi, the armless wonder, was eliminated in the last-16 stage of the compound women’s open category.
