A controversial new movie project is in the works that explores an alternate timeline for O.J. Simpson’s life. The teaser trailer released for “A Conversation with O.J.”, a “satirical thriller” about Simpson, shows the former football star strapped to an electric chair with sparks flying from his head. The film, which has been in development since 2015, centers around attorney Daniel Petrocelli, who became obsessed with the conspiracy theories surrounding Simpson’s murder trial. Actor Boris Kodjoe, who plays Simpson in the movie, suggests that the public perception of Simpson as a “lost person” is incomplete.
Director Douglas Newton shared that they originally considered Owen Wilson for the role of Petrocelli, but Wilson declined due to concerns about portraying Simpson in a favorable light. Newton emphasized that the film will present a “real story” based on factual evidence, despite the controversial nature of the subject matter.
