The Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) in Maharashtra has launched a Central School Control Room to enhance student safety by monitoring CCTV footage across municipal schools. This initiative comes in response to a recent sexual assault case in the district. The control room, equipped with advanced technology, will monitor CCTV footage from 36 municipal schools, initially, with plans to include private institutions in the future.
Despite multiple accusations, including the mishandling of firearms, neglecting school certifications, and improper influence on a traffic stop, Maine Governor Janet Mills has decided against removing Oxford County Sheriff Christopher Wainwright. Mills stated that the evidence did not meet the “extraordinary circumstances” threshold required for dismissal, which hasn’t occurred since 1926.
Barrington School District 220 residents and taxpayers have identified safety and security as their top priority for the district, followed by a new auditorium at Barrington High School. The input was gathered through phone and online surveys, public engagement sessions, and referendum advisory committee meetings. The data will be used to prepare a potential multi-million-dollar referendum for the November election.
