Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) has announced the appointment of Leslie Thng as Executive Vice President, effective from July 1, 2024. Thng, 50, will continue to hold the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Scoot, SIA’s low-cost carrier subsidiary.
Thng’s journey with Singapore Airlines began in 1999, initially serving as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing before assuming his current role. He previously led as CEO of Vistara, SIA’s joint venture with Tata Sons in India, from October 2017 to December 2021.
Under Thng’s leadership, Scoot has undergone substantial growth, surpassing pre-pandemic levels in 2024 in terms of capacity, passenger traffic, and load factors. This achievement solidified its standing as a frontrunner in the low-cost carrier sector.
