Malawi’s Vice President, Former First Lady Aboard Missing Military Plane

Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Chilima and former first lady Shanil Dzimbiri are among the passengers on a military plane that has gone missing in the country’s northern region. The plane lost contact with air traffic control shortly after takeoff from the capital, Lilongwe, due to bad weather and poor visibility. President Lazarus Chakwera has assured the public that all available resources are being used to locate the plane, and international assistance has been offered from the US, UK, Norway, and Israel. The search operation is focused on a 10-kilometer radius in one of the plantations in the Viphya mountain range, where the plane’s last known position was tracked.

Mumbai Hoarding Collapse Tragedy: Couple Found Deceased in Car Amid Decomposed State

A former 60-year-old general manager of Air Traffic Control (ATC) and his 59-year-old wife were tragically found deceased inside their car beneath an illegally erected, massive hoarding that collapsed during a severe storm in Mumbai. The couple, Manoj and Anita Chansoria, had stopped at a petrol pump to refuel when the fatal incident occurred. After a comprehensive search and rescue operation spanning 66 hours, their bodies were discovered in a decomposed state and were transferred to the nearby Rajawadi Hospital. The tragedy marked the passing of two lives among the 16 casualties and 75 injuries resulting from the hoarding collapse. The collapse also prompted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to initiate a vigorous campaign to eliminate illegal hoardings across the metropolis.

Family of Seven Feared Drowned in Gujarat River

Seven members of a family, including minors, are feared drowned in the Narmada River in Gujarat’s Narmada district. The incident occurred on Tuesday when the family was swept away by the river current. Local divers, the National Disaster Rescue Force, and the Vadodara fire team are conducting a search operation for the victims, but no traces have been found so far. Poicha, the location of the incident, is a popular spot for summer swimming, but boat operations in the river have recently been prohibited due to safety concerns.
