The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has secured an additional Rajya Sabha seat in seat-sharing negotiations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Despite contesting only four seats in Maharashtra and one in Lakshadweep, the party managed to negotiate for a Rajya Sabha seat after incumbent Piyush Goyal’s resignation. Praful Patel, the NCP’s working president, explained that the party withdrew its claim to the Satara seat for the Lok Sabha in exchange for two Rajya Sabha seats.
