Avalanche Even Series with 5-2 Game 2 Victory over Jets

The Colorado Avalanche rallied to tie their first-round playoff series with the Winnipeg Jets, winning Game 2 by a score of 5-2. After falling behind early, the Avalanche scored four unanswered goals in the second period, including two on the power play, to take control of the game. Winnipeg’s Mark Scheifele briefly gave the Jets the lead in the second period, but goals by Artturi Lehkonen, Zach Parise, and Josh Manson put Colorado ahead for good. Nikolaj Ehlers’ late penalty in the second period proved costly, as Nathan MacKinnon fed Manson for a backbreaking goal with just 6.9 seconds remaining. Colorado’s Alexandar Georgiev made 28 saves to earn the win, while Connor Hellebuyck stopped 27 shots for Winnipeg. The series now shifts to Denver for Game 3 on Friday night.
