Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar expressed his joy over the Maharashtra government’s decision to erect a statue of his late coach Ramakant Achrekar at Shivaji Park. The statue, a six-foot tall tribute, will be placed near Gate No. 5 of the iconic park where Tendulkar honed his skills under Achrekar’s tutelage. The government has designated the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to oversee the construction, while the BV Ramath Memorial Secret Club will be responsible for its maintenance.
