Indian-Origin Politicians Surge in UK Election as Labour Makes Comeback

A record number of Indian-origin politicians were elected to the UK’s House of Commons this week, with the Labour Party securing a significant victory after 14 years. This includes prominent figures like former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, as well as several new faces. Notably, Sojan Joseph, a Kerala-born nurse, created history by becoming the first Labour candidate to win the Ashford constituency. The election saw a total of 28 British Indians elected to Parliament.
