Estefanía Piñeres Duque’s ‘Mu-Ki-Ra,’ a 2D animated film co-produced by Colombian Letrario and Spanish Abano Producións, will be featured at the 2024 Cannes’ Marché du Film Animation Day. The film follows Cleo, a young girl who must confront her brother’s disappearance after he is devoured by a monster. With the guidance of a magical old woman, Cleo embarks on a quest to find the monster, Mukira, and bring her brother home. The film draws inspiration from Latin American childhood experiences, showcasing both their beauty and darkness.
