Tragic Crash in SE Oklahoma Claims Three Lives

A horrific crash in Del City, Oklahoma, has resulted in the tragic loss of three lives. The victims have been identified as 54-year-old Helen Thompson, who was driving the car, and two young children, ages 6 and 7. Two other children, ages 9 and 13, were also injured in the crash. According to authorities, the car veered off the road and collided with a tree and fire hydrant at the intersection of SE 15th and Bryant. The 9-year-old child survived the crash with no injuries, while the 13-year-old is in critical condition. Police believe that speed was a contributing factor in the crash, as the group was reportedly returning from an event and driving too fast.

According to Del City Police, the accident occurred at approximately 8:12 p.m. on SE 15th Street near the 3100 block. Upon arrival, officers discovered a single vehicle with four passengers inside. A 6-year-old girl who was unrestrained in the car was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries. Two other children, ages 7 and 13, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 54-year-old Helen Thompson, was also pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. A 9-year-old boy managed to escape the vehicle on his own and is currently in stable condition. A 13-year-old girl is critically injured. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but speed is believed to have been a contributing factor.
